Unger Games presented by Dallas Theological Seminary (Humor)

12 Apr

“Katniss, your quest is a noble one but harming the other seminary students is just not right. If you want to be the greatest Bible teacher in Panem, go to the DTS library and study the works of Unger, Pentecost, Chafer, & Walvoord…”

That’s how the books and the movie should have gone. 😉

I enjoy your blog, but this one is too close to this story for me.

I get the Hunger Games ref. I just think making a joke about a school shooting might not be the best idea.

Also, the killing in the Hunger Games was a kill or be killed situation. How does that relate to any kind of school shooting.

      Greg,

Thanks for commenting. You are reading way, way too much seriousness into this. The thing about killing was directly related to the Hunger Games movie/book plot. Without that reference, this bit would not make sense. And, I really don’t like the Hunger Games as a story anyway but it is really hot right now thus the reason for its use.

The reason DTS and seminary studies are involved is because Hunger rhymes with Unger and Merrill F Unger was a theologian at DTS and wrote the well-known Unger’s Bible Dictionary reference book.

I think connecting this to a real school shooting is a little bizarre. I listened to your thoughts but I don’t think you are making a strong argument. Thanks anyway however. I respect your opinion.

        I don’t like to argue.
