Spacial Relations (Satire)

11 Mar

“Hellllllo out there, this is Rick Warren speaking. I don’t know who you are or where you are but if we can find 2 or 3 things in common, we can call it worship of the same god…”

Since when is Rick Warren broadcasting from a mdr-station (mdr = Central German Broadcasting Cooperation) in Leipzig? Looks like we are not even safe here 😉

You can run, JNj, but you can’t hide from the log arm of the semi-pelagian pope of purpose & ecumenical worldwide church!

I am not familiar with Horn but I’ll check him out. I have heard some other wild theories about Gen 6 from other people. Thanks for thinking of me. I’ll let you know something soon.

      Simon,

Yes, this stuff looks familiar. I call this type of ‘research’ book-sales-generation and nothing more. There may be some research but the premise of this type of stuff that I have read is almost entirely speculation. There is little fact and much superfluous filler.

There is an old man in Arkansas (US) who teaches the theory of a demon-human hybrid race formed from Gen 6 that was the reason for the flood. Others go farther and attribute the alien reports to these hybrid creatures that supposedly live in the center of the earth.

This stuff is usually built on very flimsy logic or no logic at all. What is your take on it?

I read one of Thomas Horn’s books. He makes much of the stories of the Nephilim, in Genesis 6 and again in Jude. He also integrates some eaching on the “watchers” who are supposed to watch over human kind. I dont find any gospel in his writings, as science fiction its not bad though.
I have heard a sermon form a reformed preacher, talking about Genesis 6 and he also spoke about some demon-hybrid being the result of “the sons of God, going to the daughters of men” But in my Systematic Theology class last year, this notion was dispelled. The text does not open itself to such wild specualtion. It would seem that even the most conservative of ttheologains are careful to make the text in Genesis 6 into a doctrine of some kind. Unfortunately the more charismatic firnge seems to have given Thomas Horn some credibilty. Be that as it may, his work does not proclaim any gospel. Just some specualtions on what might have been. Logic is not part of the picture at all.
He does however tell same fascinating yarns. if you like science fiction. But that is what it is, science fiction, not fact.

I don’t know, CG. Outer space is probably the best place for Warren’s programs… 😉
