Has John Piper Lost His Mind?

19 Jan

What? Uh, what? Is John Piper crazy or is he bowing to the idol of inclusivism? Allah is a demon and the Jews try to get to God without His son, Jesus. The Bible teaches there is one God and one way to get to Him. Like it or lump it, that is the way it is… it sounds like Rick Warren’s influence is having an effect.

Oh dear. It is really time for the good Dr Piper to retire . I know he can be controversial someitimes but this would be pushing th envelope too far.

He is doing things that do not make sense. Is the desire to be liked such a strong drug that it causes people to relinquish their grasp of the truth? Inquiring minds want to know…

      thanks for following my blog.

This is the kind of revelation the “contemplative” prayer leads to…

Interesting, nearly half a month gone and not one correcting reaction to this tweet from anywhere in the reformed camp or elsewhere – or did I missed it?

Hello JNj. It’s good to hear from you.

Very little has been said about the Piper tweet and I’m not sure why. His tweet makes no sense. It seems like he is suggesting that people who are following false gods can get where they seek to be by coming to Christ. This seems blasphemous to me. I am sure Piper did not mean for this to be taken this way (or at least I would hope not). Could you imagine someone in the OT saying that Baal could only be known & loved through the God of Abraham, Isaac, & Jacob? They would have been stoned twice! Coming to Christ would shatter any illusion of following a false god.

How did you interpret his tweet when you first saw it, JNj? And thanks again for stopping by.

    Hi Truthinator,
I was busy the last weeks, because the Lord gave me several opportunities to share His Gospel.
To asnwer your question: John Piper is a very highly academical trained intellectual and he knows what he says, so I take his words, for what they are. If he says, that Adonai and Allah are only known …. I must think he believes that there are two Gods. This is nothing else but blasphemy. We know that the God called Allah is very differnt from the God, the Holy Scriptures reveal to us. How can he dare to put those in one sentence? I think the only reason, why this tweet hadn’t had that much impact for an uproar, is, because his books sell so well …
By the way, could you send me an E-Mail, I would like to send you some Information connectin to this tweed. Greetings and God bless you!

Look at the context of this. All of these beliefs are monotheistic…Judaism says that Adonia has not yet come and Islam says that you can’t KNOW the one and only God. Piper is saying that Jesus has come and he fulfills Judaism and is the knowable representation of God that Islam doesn’t have.

He’s saying that the biblical Jesus is the only person that puts the concept of a monotheistic God in perspective.

Make sure you understand the context of things before you attack blindly.

Thanks for commenting but please don’t “attack me blindly” by accusing me of attacking Piper blindly. I am a good bit more familiar with Piper than you presume. Because you disagree with me does not make me guilty of a lack of understanding.

As far as context goes, you are reading much into the tweet and filling in the blanks with info you believe to be true. Context is important but you step outside the bounds of context and legislate from the bench on this one.

Allah cannot and will never be known. He is/was not real. The concept of Allah is demonic as a manifestation of a false religion. Read Piper’s tweet again and you will see that no connection to other tweets or messages can make sense of this blurb. Thanks.
