Don’t Think it Can’t Happen…(Satire)

23 Aug

The pastoral team at Image Community Church (formerly Calvary Baptist before converting to Emergent) scuttled all Biblical teaching and began performing dance numbers from West Side Story. While it didn’t do much to feed the flock, it did help these 30-somethings continue to fit into their ‘skinny’ jeans…

“I feel pretty…oh so pretty…I feel pretty, and happy and gay!!!” Yeah, maybe this will help the flock better than something like “for God so loved the world…”

It doesn’t surprise me anymore! It’s just so sad to cheapen something as costly as our Savior’s sacrifice and as precious as the true Gospel of God’s amazing grace!

Yes, with more churches chasing to follow the Emergent and/or style-driven model with no Bible teaching, will anyone miss the real Chruch when she is raptured? (assume a pretrib, premil point of view for the sake of this question)

Will there be enough people missing for anyone to care? I can foresee business as usual in many churches after God’s people are gone. It may get to the point where most churches in America are Apostate. It seems as though we are rushing headlong toward that today…

“It may get to the point where most churches in America are Apostate.” I believe we might be past that point already. My husband just heard the following public radio announcement for a ‘baptist’ church near us: “…where women are pastors, children lead worship, and theological diversity is welcome.” My heart is heavy!

“Theological diversity”…which is another way of saying “everything except the Bible is used here”. Wow! No wonder public radio was promoting it. Heavy heart indeed… Keep the faith. He is not surprised…
