God wants everything we do to prosper, right? Afterall, it’s all about our prospering, right? If I run a ministry and I am a Christian, then God wants me to succeed, right?
Apparently not in every case. What about the “Christian” television networks? Have you watched any of these lately? Have you seen any programming that is Biblically correct? Probably not much. What about “Christian” radio? What about the number of stations that are removing Biblical teaching programs and playing style-driven “Christian” music instead?
Now, what I am attacking is not ministries that want to succeed for God’s glory. I am attacking the notion that God wants all things that we do to succeed therefore if we need to remove properly Biblical teaching programs and replace them with heresy, flim flam artists, and almost-worldly music that occasionally mentions God, then we must do that in order to pay the bills to keep the ministry alive.
Where does it say in the Bible that God is OK with us mixing in worldly and even heretical stuff in order to cause enough people to watch/listen generating sufficient cash flow to stay on the air?
I see no teaching anywhere that justifies such a thing. As a matter of fact, I see teaching from Genesis to maps that says God’s people are not to mix fallacy with God’s word and not to incorporate wickedness into the practice of serving God.
Is the argument of “if we do not change to be more like what the world wants we will not be able to stay in business” a valid one? I don’t think so. Look at what the Bible says about compromise, dilution of truth, mixing truth with lies, combining righteousness with wickedness, and mixing fiction with truth. You will get the picture that God is not interested in compromising truth.
So, why do so many compromise…? Should a ministry close down instead of mixing with ungodiliness? If these are the only choices available, I would say to close down. It is more important to honor God in what you do than to dishonor Him in a ministry that carries His name.
Hosea 6: 3-6 says, “So let us know, let us press on to know the LORD. His going forth is as certain as the dawn; And He will come to us like the rain, Like the spring rain watering the earth.”What shall I do with you, O Ephraim? What shall I do with you, O Judah? For your loyalty is like a morning cloud And like the dew which goes away early.Therefore I have hewn them in pieces by the prophets; I have slain them by the words of My mouth; And the judgments on you are like the light that goes forth.For I delight in loyalty rather than sacrifice, And in the knowledge of God rather than burnt offerings.

A bad church is better than no church? Maybe that is what people think. Or maybe they just do not want to obey the word of God. People believe that since this is the church age , the church is THE answer, not Christ. Thank you for your insights. Sometimes I start thinking no one else is out there that thinks like this.

Thanks for stopping by, camdenstables. I agree that the Church and what we see in America in the way of churches are two different things. There is a movement afoot to replace church attendance with parachurch meetings and house-based meetings. I am not in this camp but I admit there is some validity in getting out of many of the churches in America due to the way they operate.
Christ is most definitely the answer. That is why it is ludicrous to take out the message of Christ and continue to claim to represent Him!
