Soooo i am missing the tattoo, so is our Pastor actually, he might have the John Piper T Shirt though..
Been reading a bit about the late David Wilkinson he seems to have been into vision casting to some degree it seems, Pentecostal Holiness style…any thoughts on this ministry?
I am not familiar with Wilkinson. I stay away from the mystical stuff however. Lots of people are interested and/or enamored with it these days. I believe God can do anything but I think you have to be sure it is God who is actually doing thinkgs first. The mystical stuff seems to be devices of man used for man’s ultimate gain.
I never fully read Wilkerson’s beliefs while I was studying the Charismatic movement, but this video will make you like him. I’m not positive that he was Reformed. Somehow I don’t seem to remember that he was, but it has been a while. He was a great visionary, and as JesusWins pointed out, wrote some tremendous material on many subjects. He is an author (preacher, pastor, writer, etc) worth reading the works of, as long as you are discerning!
David Wilkerson wrote the book ‘The Cross and the Switchblade’ about his encounter with Nicky Cruz et al on the streets of New York. Read some of his past sermons. Boy,what He said then is being confirmed by leaps and bounds not only in the church in America but beyond. I’d say the Lord used him mightily as his Scripture based messages are still relevant to the church universal today. I don’t think he was vision casting. Only God knows.
My comment on the cartoon heading- Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins need to be thanked for popularising the word ‘Left Behind’. On the other hand, it seems that is the DAMAGENT church’s mantra who still cling to the ‘old school’ way of reading the Bible.*grin*

Wilkerson was Pentecostal, to a degree, but I was deeply impressed by his passion against the emotionalism of the Charismatic movement (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IrpW6Xctg8Q&feature=related)
